Best knife for the money sharp yes it is the locking mechanism is simple. Got a carbon steel and stainless one, use all the time a easy to use knife that works
Iconic is an overused word, but these simply designed knives deserve it. Very sharp out of the packaging and easy to maintain that sharpness. You need to regularly oil an Opinel and give it some TLC but it will reward you with excellent service until you drop it over the side of a boat like I did with my last one!There is not a better value for money pocket knife available but be aware, due to the locking collar, I believe it's technically illigal for every day carry in the UK. Mine is carried in my rucksack whilst camping so unless PC Plod is being really silly it should be fine.
Brilliant for food prep,watch those finger its Razor sharp.
